Samsung Galaxy S 4G: It's Pretty Much A Vibrant With An Extra G

Posted by Jason Lee in "Samsung Android Phones" @ 07:00 AM

"It's only been six months since Samsung launched its highly successful Galaxy S assault upon the US market with a series of carrier customized phones: the Vibrant and Captivate GSM twins for T-Mobile and AT&T, the WiMAX-rocking Epic 4G for Sprint and the Fascinate for Verizon."

I don't think anyone will argue that this device really isn't a huge leap forward in technology but is it a worthy update to current Vibrant users? The folks over at Engadget have given the Galaxy S 4G a thorough going over and have pretty much concluded that... eeh, not really. Though I might make the jump for the front facing camera and HSPA+ but with the Galaxy S 2 looming on the horizon I'm not sure how many people will jump on this device. I'd say its a great device for anyone switching to T-Mobile right now or someone upgrading from a much older, less smart, phone. Anyone out there eying this beauty?

Samsung Galaxy S 4G Now on T-Mobile

Posted by Jon Westfall in "Samsung Android Phones" @ 09:00 AM

http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/23/...-from-t-mobile/

"Samsung's Galaxy S 4G might not have the very latest version of Android or too much hardware differentiation from the original T-Mobile Vibrant, but hey, it brings a front-facing camera and HSPA+ connectivity, so of course it costs $200. T-Mobile will have disappointed many with its clarification that the Galaxy S 4G will cost a pair of Benjamins on contract, exactly as much as its Samsung-built predecessor did seven months ago"

While it's a version behind current (Froyo), it doesn't look like a bad device. If you're a fan of Samsung devices, you might want to check the Galaxy S 4G out (Assuming you're cool with T-Mo!)

T-Mobile Announces The Samsung Galaxy S 4G With A Side Of HSPA+

Posted by Jason Lee in "Samsung Android Phones" @ 11:00 AM

http://www.tmonews.com/2011/02/t-mo...he-galaxy-s-4g/

"At this point the Samsung Galaxy S/Vibrant Plus/Vibrant 4G is hardly a secret as we've already uncovered "in the wild pics," specs and pretty much everything else one could want to know about a phone. Tonight T-Mobile officially announces to the world, the Galaxy S 4G (cue drum beats)."

T-Mobile just keeps the awesome phones coming. Yesterday T-Mo officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, pretty much an HSPA+ Galaxy S with a front facing camera. Not really a huge upgrade over your current Galaxy S device unless you happen to live in an area with HSPA+. If you don't happen to live in an HSPA+ service area you might soon. T-Mobile also announced that they have expanded their HSPA+ network to over 100 major metropolitan areas with more soon to come. It will be interesting to see how well this device sells with the Galaxy S 2 looming on the horizon.
