Another Tablet on the way from HTC...Meet the Puccini

Posted by Craig Horlacher in "Android News" @ 10:30 AM

"Details on what could well be HTC’s second Android tablet of 2011 have leaked, codenamed the HTC Puccini, and expected to be the company’s first Android 3.0 Honeycomb slate complete with AT&T LTE 4G support."

One thing that sets this tablet apart from the others is that instead of a Tegra 2 HTC chose to use a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. That CPU uses an Adreno 220 GPU which should be very fast. With that high clock speed and good GPU it will be interesting to see if this is a Tegra 2 killer. It will also have AT&T 4G LTE support built in. One plus or minis depending on whether or not you like the HTC Sense interface is that HTC has it on the Puccini. Personally, I would much rather have the original Honeycomb interface but I shouldn't knock it until I try it. Make sure to hit the "Read" link below for the rest of the details. What do you think of the HTC Puccini? Does it seem to be a tablet that you would consider?

HTC Leaves Older Devices Senseless

Posted by Jason Lee in "HTC Android Phones" @ 01:30 PM

"A couple of days ago, when HTC announced the new Sensation Android smartphone, the company has also unveiled an enhanced version of its HTC Sense UI, namely Sense 3.0. Now, owners of already-launched HTC smartphones may want to know if Sense 3.0 will come to their devices. Unfortunately, the answer seems to be "no.""

Hope you didn't have your hopes set on getting HTC's latest Sense 3.0 on your brand new EVO 4G or that shiny new Desire HD because according to HTC they just don't have the poop to run it. It's quite the shame but it appears that the new HTC Sense requires some pretty beefy processor specs to glide along as HTC thinks it should. Only the two new dual core 1.2GHz devices and the the 1.5GHz Flyer will be able to handle HTC's sensational new Sense. Though no worries. I'm sure someone will have it wedged into a custom ROM in no time.

HTC Introduces the Desire HD, Desire Z and the New Sense Experience: Now on Video!

Posted by Jason Lee in "HTC Android Phones" @ 07:00 PM

"HTC has published a high resolution video walkthrough of the company's two latest devices that were introduced at the event in London yesterday: the HTC Desire HD and the Desire Z. Besides giving us a closer look at the hardware of the phones, some of the new features and widgets in the next version of HTC Sense are demonstrated."

Other than the fact that both of these devices are totally awesome it is nice to see how much work HTC has put into the latest "Sense Experience". I am normally not a fan of Sense but I will have to admit these new devices make it look rather attractive. With such amazing hardware paired with pretty good looking software these new devices should be a hit. Now if I could just get one of them to work on AT&T 3G...
