SmartPhoneGurus Review the HTC Sensation XL

Posted by Craig Horlacher in "Android Talk" @ 11:00 AM

http://www.smartphonegurus.com/foru...ensation-xl-o2/

"The XL builds on the prior Sensation incarnations, the original machine and the Beats audio enhanced XE. With this new variant HTC have changed both the internals and externals of the machines design and in effect it is a new machine in its own right and not a part of the original Sensation family."

This is a very detailed review that covers the hardware as well as many details about the software. For me, I think making a phone these days with a 4.7" diagonal and only 480x800 resolution (only 198dpi) should be a crime. Not only is the resolution low for the size but the aspect ratio is not as good as 16:9 for holding in your hand. In other words, the Galaxy Nexus has about the same size screen but it will not be so wide in your hand due to the aspect ratio difference. Of course the Galaxy Nexus has a 720x1280 resolution too. Anyway, the Sensation XL does have a fast single core 1.5GHz processor and 768MB of RAM as well as 16GB of built in storage. Take a look at the review for more details and lots of pictures.

Music to My Ears - HTC Sensation XE Launching Soon!

Posted by Karey Westfall in "HTC Android Phones" @ 11:00 AM

http://www.htc.com/www/smartphones/...c-sensation-xe/

It's here and it's real! The HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio will be launching for Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East sometime this month. Unfortunately, no price or launching date is available for the US, but it will probably make its way over the giant pond at some point. But if you do manage to get your hands on one, it will come stocked with awesomeness! Included are custom made Beats headphones, 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 8 megapixel camera (including dual LED flash and auto focus, as well as a separate front facing camera), Bluetooth, tethering and GPS capabilities and the ability to support multiple audio formats. If you like your music to go, this would be the phone for you!

Sensational Review: HTC Sensation 4G

Posted by Karey Westfall in "HTC Android Phones" @ 04:00 AM

http://www.digitaltrends.com/cell-p...tion-4g-review/

"Earlier this year, we gave a positive review to the HTC Inspire 4G on AT&T. Well, if you liked what that phone had to offer, you're going to love this one."

The HTC Sensation 4G is already available for purchase but if you are still debating whether to pick it up or not, check out the review. It will help you decide whether you want to plunk down some change on the new phone!

Insanely Thorough Review: The Galaxy S II Vs The HTC Sensation

Posted by Jason Lee in "Android Articles, Resources & Developer" @ 05:00 PM

http://www.smartphonegurus.com/foru...ung-galaxy-sii/

"Recently two new 'super phones' have been unleashed into the marketplace on the Android platform and thanks to our good friends at O2 UK we've been given the chance to produce a head-to-head review of both machines. We are of course talking dual core here and that means the Sensation from HTC and the Galaxy SII from Samsung."

I don't think you'll find a better source of information if you're even remotely curious about the Galaxy S II or the Sensation. The folks over at Smartphone Gurus have put together quite the extensive comparison/review of these two amazing devices. If you're in the market for a new Android device I strongly recommend heading over and reading through this extensive write-up. I really want to replace my poor old Nexus One with a Galaxy S II. Reading this sure didn't help my restraint any. :)

HTC Leaves Older Devices Senseless

Posted by Jason Lee in "HTC Android Phones" @ 01:30 PM

http://www.unwiredview.com/2011/04/...-older-devices/

"A couple of days ago, when HTC announced the new Sensation Android smartphone, the company has also unveiled an enhanced version of its HTC Sense UI, namely Sense 3.0. Now, owners of already-launched HTC smartphones may want to know if Sense 3.0 will come to their devices. Unfortunately, the answer seems to be "no.""

Hope you didn't have your hopes set on getting HTC's latest Sense 3.0 on your brand new EVO 4G or that shiny new Desire HD because according to HTC they just don't have the poop to run it. It's quite the shame but it appears that the new HTC Sense requires some pretty beefy processor specs to glide along as HTC thinks it should. Only the two new dual core 1.2GHz devices and the the 1.5GHz Flyer will be able to handle HTC's sensational new Sense. Though no worries. I'm sure someone will have it wedged into a custom ROM in no time.

The Sensational Pyramid? Introducing the HTC Sensation To the UK

Posted by Karey Westfall in "HTC Android Phones" @ 08:00 AM

http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/394...amid-launch-pad

"The HTC Pyramid will be called the HTC Sensation when it comes to the UK, Pocket-lint can exclusively confirm after talking to people familiar with the matter."

The HTC Sensation is said to be launching in the UK on April 12th. Some of you may know it by it's former name, the HTC Pyramid. Regardless of it's moniker, few details of it's stats and mobile carriers have been confirmed. But it is speculated that it will have a 4.3 inch screen, arrive in the US for Q2 and run gingerbread. Sounds like the only confirmed fact is it's name!
